January 19, 2014 Ibarra, Ecuador

We arrived in Ibarra, Ecuador yesterday and are enjoying a lazy day today in a hotel room across the road from Lake Yahuarcocha. There was a large gathering of bikers from Ecuador and Columbia here this weekend. While downtown today Ken snapped a few pictures of what the locals drive.

Lots of 200 cc choppers in town this weekend, it was hard not to laugh when there was 5 or 6 of them at a traffic light and they are all reeving their engine until the light turns green.
Biker gathering in central square was open to all brands and sizes of mottos.
One of the very few Harley's we've seen in Ecuador, this one had home made bags and dirt tires.
Not an Ultra Classic, but certainly rigged for touring.
This BMW had a leaking fork seal with a temporary fix of a rag and duct tape.
